Laura Hart - Art Director, Production / Set Designer
From an early age I have looked at the way everything is set out, designed and colour coordinated: I found my self figuring ways in my head to make them look aesthetically pleasing. Graduating from Ravensborne College of Design and Communication (2004), with a foundation diploma, focusing on Spatial design: With production design flair. I then attend this course in set design for Stage and Screen at Wimbledon, developing my skills in model making into which I enjoy thoroughly seeing your concept come to life is like seeing a new world take form. I also developed my abilities in concept drawing, technical drawing and storyboarding using many types of multimedia programs and equipment.

During my time attending Wimbledon, I have gained some essential work experience collaborating with many different organisations, such as:
‘Bathroom Blues’ (2006): At the London film academy to where I worked as production designer on a short film.
‘The Dig’ (2007): A collaboration with Ravensborne College of Design and Communication for a diversity programme, into which myself and two other designers, art directed and built a light entertainment TV set over 2 weeks (with minimal budget and no workshop) for a days interactive work shop to give 15-17 year olds a taste of how the entertainment industry works.
‘In Security Guard’ (2007): My self and another designer art directed a Goldsmiths Ma students final short film which as later premiered at the Curzon Cinema in London.

From this work experience I gained a wider knowledge of how the industry works many skills in the building of sets and the safety rules put in place also developing my skills in organising a team of people, and working with other members of the industry, and planning productions from beginning to end. During my time on this course I have come to the conclusion that whilst I enjoy designing for Theatre my true passion is designing for television and film intertwining shapes and colours to interpret my own versions of reality.
