Major Project
Hunchback of Notre Dame - I have explored the history of Notre Dame. Looking at the period the story was set and studying the characters. I have also looked at the religious backgrounds and costume design and how society lived at this time. By exploring the pagan and Christian influences upon the establishment and society, I can understand the effect of those ‘outsiders’, i.e. the gypsies/Rroma upon both the era and the story as a whole. The complexity of each character both effects and is affected by their society.

Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde
I have relied heavily upon the storyboard to relay my research into this story. Keeping more to the book, more than heavy influences from other film projects, I have researched into the influences of the book itself, from Deacon Brodie, Burke and Hare, the City of Edinburgh through to Victorian London.

Minor Project
I have focused upon the theme of ‘Gothic’. Beginning my research from the historical beginnings of the barbarian Goths themselves and twelve century Gothic architecture, through to the Victorian resurgance in both literature and architecture, then onto early twentieth century film genre of Gothic horror right up to the current Goth scene. A lot of my research has been in photographic imagery, which links up with research done on the other two of my projects.
