Natalie Lindiwe Jones - Lighting and Production Designer
As one of the first graduates from Wimbledon’s Lighting Design and Production FdA, Natalie chose to continue her final year focussing on lighting and film. She has freelanced as a lighting designer for the past two years, designing shows at BAC, Trafalgar Studios, The Kings Head, Wimbledon Theatre Studio, The Blue Elephant, Shunt Vaults, Greenwich Theatre, Laban and The Place. She also works as a part-time technician at Battersea Arts Centre, following her production work with Punchdrunk on their critical and popular successes Faust and Masque of the Red Death. Natalie’s final year of study has resulted in the creation of a short film. She has drawn her inspiration from sources as diverse as Rene Magritte, Katie Mitchell, David Lean, Sarah Kane and The Ink Spots. ‘Til the Petals Fall is a poignant vision of idealised love and failed relationships channelled through the surrealist images of Magritte’s paintings. Having secured a cast consisting entirely of redheads, her next ambition is to create a work utilising a complete crew of people with red hair and pale skin (freckles optional). However, not being a natural redhead herself makes this somewhat of a pipe dream and so Natalie will continue to pursue her interests elsewhere & in cinematography and lighting for stage.
