Electra Kythreotou - Scenographer
I feel my confidence has grown immensely over these years and I have found a way to develop my personal skills and improve my knowledge and understanding of set and costume design. I particularly enjoy model making, as a way of communicating my ideas in a clean and open minded style, to achieve simple yet dynamic effects on stage. During the dance collaboration with a choreographer from The Place Theatre, London. I experienced the challenges and excitement of forging relationships with someone of a different creative background. I enjoy working in this way as I feel that the interplay of ideas can be an interesting and inspirational way of working.
I also have a strong interest in Children’s Theatre , which I have explored through designing a set for ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ by Hans Christian Andersen. I believe my design would create an exciting and entertaining experience, which children would enjoy and respond positively to. In the future I wish pursue children theatre further, however my interests still lie in working as a set and costume designer for all genres.
