Anna-Claude Biron - Costume Interpreter
I began my theatrical education at John Abbott college in Montreal Canada, were I took a three year course in theatre design. This course allowed me to touch on subjects such as model making, drawing, drafting, lighting and sewing. In my third year I designed a set for a production of Godspell and designed and made the costumes for Les Belles Soeurs by Michel Tremblay. My time at this college allowed me to understand the inner workings of the theatre as well as allowing me to better understand the collaborative effort behind the theatre.

In 2005 I began the Costume interpretation Ba(Hons) course at Wimbledon college of Art. During my three years I have worked on many costumes, learning diverse skills such as beading, leatherwork, dancewear, pattern making, corsetry. I have particularly enjoyed making dancewear, as well as the millinery aspects of this course. In my second year I had the opportunity to work at James Lock Milliners for a month. This opportunity allowed me to see how a small business is run, as well as teaching me specific millinery skills. My first project of my third year allowed me to touch on tailoring skills and allowed me to learn a lot about ageing and distressing a costume. I found distressing costumes very interesting, I liked how it made a costume look more like a piece of clothing, especially how this skill gave a costume its personality.

During my time at Wimbledon, I have been told that I work quickly; I am hardworking and am good at working under pressure. I am interested in all aspects of costume and would enjoy working in either film, television or theatre.

Specific Skills: historical costume making, pattern making, millinery, corsetry, dancewear.
